Loma Systems is a leading manufacturer of metal detectors, checkweighers, and x-ray inspection equipment, which are widely used to ensure quality and freedom from contaminants in the food industry. Their products can check for virtually any unwanted contaminant, and reject faulty products from the production line to make sure they do not reach the consumer.

Loma Systems commissioned Human-Computer Interface to review their documentation production procedures, and address the problem of maintaining manuals for a range of related products not only in English, but also in several foreign languages. The result was a new approach to the documentation, based on a distinctive design style for the guides, reflecting the same degree of quality as the Loma sales literature and Web site, with a production method that gave substantial savings in printing costs.
