TeleBet is a PC-based application, designed to allow an operator to take a customer’s bet over the telephone. It is designed for use with the OpenBet Internet gambling system, developed by Orbis UK and used by many major betting sites.

Because experienced gamblers often construct complex bets, with names like Trixie, Yankee, and Heinz (a combination of 57 different bets!), TeleBet automatically checks selections and calculates the price as the bet is entered.

Orbis commissioned Human-Computer Interface to produce a user guide for TeleBet, designed to train operators to use it effectively, together with an HTML version of the guide, for access from a Web browser while using TeleBet.

The HTML version of the guide uses frames to provide a navigation bar showing a table of contents from which the user can conveniently navigate through the material. It also includes an index to allow the user to jump directly to information about a particular topic.
