Optix — Opticians’ management system

Optix is a practice management system for opticians, designed with an up-to-date user interface that revolves around the appointment book rather than the patient record card, reflecting the way in which practices are actually run.

Postoptics commissioned Human-Computer Interface to develop an identity for the product, and derived from this, a series of icons for use in the software. One important requirement of the logo was that it should work well as the program icon, taking advantage of the transparency available in Windows XP to create an icon with subtle shading that can be used on a variety of different backgrounds.
